There are many different relationships between people in Ender’s Game. Most of them are manipulating relationships. Enders relationships with everyone except the kids at battle school are all about manipulation.

Ender and Peter- It’s all about scare tack ticks with Peter when it comes to Ender actually when it comes to everyone in his life. He may think that it’s all for the greater good but in the end it’s just about what he wants. It doesn’t matter who he runs over or who he hurts in the end Peter is all about himself and what’s going on in his world.

Ender and Valentine- Although there is less manipulation going on here it is still present. Graff uses Valentine to get to Ender. Valentine is the only person the Ender ever truly loved and misses when he is at battle school. Since Graff knows this information he aids his cause by recruiting Valentine to change Enders mind to stop with his schooling.

Ender and Graff- From the beginning you see how awful this man is to the children that are placed in his care. Again all he is worried about is recruiting the perfect person for the job. And that job involves giving up more then what was asked of him in the first place. His stories and compassion are all a part of his ploy to create a solider that will end this battle that we have with the buggers. Can you imagine that the only this constant in your life was a person known to lie and manipulate you every chance they get. How disconcerting to know that there is no one there to count on because that’s the way it must be in order to get the job done and done right.

Ender and Rackham- Rackham at least tells Ender that it won’t be easy. But yet again fails to include Ender in the entire truth. Every game that Ender plays is real. He is really killing off an entire species that he has come to respect and love. It isn’t until the end that the truth comes out and Ender is devastated.
